Throw a Lidded Casserole Dish

Take on a challenging intermediate pottery wheel workshop and create your own traditional-style ceramic casserole dish with a lid. This 5–6 hour pottery workshop is designed for experienced potters looking to develop their wheel throwing and altering skills while creating a beautiful, functional piece of handmade pottery.

You'll learn how to throw and alter forms on the pottery wheel, working with intentional movements to create the shape of the casserole dish. We'll then explore how to add smaller components and carefully refine the form, including creating a false bottom and fitted lid, to achieve a traditional and functional design.

This workshop is all about pushing your existing pottery skills further, with plenty of time to focus on precision, form and finishing details. You'll leave with a unique handmade casserole dish ready to be glazed and fired.
