About the event
Join us for a relaxed and creative ceramic chess set making workshop at DEYA Brewery in Cheltenham. This hands-on pottery workshop is designed for beginners and students of all skill levels, so no previous ceramics or clay experience is needed. Whether you’re curious about pottery, looking for a unique creative activity in Cheltenham, or simply want to make something beautiful and functional, this workshop is a perfect fit.
During the session, you’ll work with clay to hand-build a full set of chess pieces. Participants can choose to make one full side of a chess set, or create both sides using a simpler, more minimal design. You’ll be guided through the process step by step, with plenty of support and creative freedom along the way.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll select either a light or dark glaze for your pieces. After the session, we’ll handle all the kiln firing and glazing, ensuring…
